"Hero" is a homebred colt from our newest stud, ALL ABOARD, who is a son of FILAGO, a stallion who was bred in the USA but raced primarily in France. FILAGO is a G1 winner with a record of 18-6-3-3 and earnings of over $880,000. He might have been a better known sire in the USA, but he was sold to Brazil at age 5. He is a son of FOOLISH PLEASURE, the 1974 American Champion 2YO Colt and multiple G1 winner. ALL ABOARD's dam, RODELINDA, is French-bred mare who is a full sister to RAGMAR, a French G1 winner who most notably won the Prix du Jockey-Club (French Derby) with a race record of 5-2-2-?. Their sire, TROPULAR, is noted for having sired several black-type winners.

Lance's dam is LAP OF LUXURY, a daughter of SHAM who was a successful G1 winner with a heart of gold - he knocked out two teeth in the starting gate at the start of the Derby and finished second, with the injury bleeding the entire race. He was determined to run. He finished second only to the immortal SECRETARIAT. Her dam, NAVAJO PRINCESS, was a G2 and G3 race winner who produced several successful racers as well when she retired. She is a daughter of DRONE, an undefeated racer with a record of 4-4-0-0 who became an equally successful broodmare sire.

Hero's pedigree is of strong, yet less-than-common lines. This makes him not only a potentially strong contender on the track, but also potentially a worthy sire who will cross well into many breeding herds. We can't wait to see what he does on the track. His race records prior to age 3 are assumed to be 'lost' because he wasn't created until 2006 RL!
